Fees and Rebates:
The standard fee for a consultation with Zia is $200, ($210 for after hours appointments). The Australian Psychological Society recommended fee for psychological treatment in 2017-2018 is $246 per hour.
You are eligible to claim a proportion of your fees from Medicare if you have been referred under a Mental Health Care Plan prepared by your GP. Depending on eligibility, you are entitled to a Medicare rebate of $124.50 per session, for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year. You can also claim Medicare rebates if you have been referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.
Alternatively, a proportion of your fees may be redeemable from your private health fund, depending on your health plan.
Appointments:
Appointments are required and last for approximately 50 to 60 minutes.
No referral is necessary unless you wish to claim from Medicare.
Cancellations:
It is important to give reasonable notice if you need to cancel your appointment so that the time set aside for you can be offered to someone else. As set out by the Australian Psychological Society Guidelines, any cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will incur 100% of the consultation fee.
Note that Medicare rebates can not be used to pay for cancellation fees as this is in breach of the Medicare rebate scheme.
